What this actually tests
Browsers can route a tone to the left channel, the right channel, or both. That's what this checks. It cannot address your phone's physical top and bottom speakers individually — no website can. For the most meaningful result, use headphones or earbuds.

Does this test my phone's top and bottom speakers?
No — and any site claiming that from a web page is overselling. This checks stereo channel routing (left vs right signal), which is what browsers can actually control.
I hear both tones from one speaker. Is it broken?
Probably not. Many phones have a single effective speaker for media, or sum stereo to mono. Retest with headphones: if left and right separate correctly there, your device is fine.
